Privacy at Sparkles Drive

Information used

The service stores account names, password hashes, login sessions, performance file names and ownership, folder information, upload progress, and DJ computer delivery records. Security records help protect accounts and diagnose errors.

File activity

Administrators can see which signed-in account opened a file preview or requested a download, including the filename, folder, date and time. Related requests within five minutes are grouped. These records help manage the show library; they do not prove that a file was fully read, watched or saved. DJ syncing and offline viewing are not included.

Where files go and who can see them

Music and videos are stored in the administrator’s Google Drive. IONOS hosts the app and its account and file catalogue. Ordinary file transfers pass through the server without being retained there. Studio keeps editable drafts and rendering status in the app. To make a finished number, it temporarily downloads the selected source files to the server, processes them, and saves the result to Google Drive. Temporary working files are removed when the job finishes or fails. Originals are preserved. New performer accounts start with access only to their assigned library. The administrator can grant additional shared-folder access. Performers can download only their own files; permitted shared previews send media to their device and cannot prevent recording or saving. The administrator and paired DJ computers can access all performance libraries. Paired Windows apps can upload new and edited performance files as well as download them. DJ computers retain downloaded copies for offline shows.

Online media library

Studio sends online-library searches to Wikimedia Commons through the server. Image, video and audio previews load from Wikimedia, which receives your device’s network address. Choosing an item downloads it temporarily to the server and saves a verified copy to your permitted Google Drive folder, together with its source and public-domain licence details. Beat detection runs on the Sparkles server using temporary copies of your chosen tracks.

Optional Studio assistant

When you choose Suggest edits, your written request and the current draft’s name, clip names, timings, screen text and editing settings are sent to OpenAI. Audio and video files, account credentials and other performers’ libraries are not sent to the assistant. OpenAI prepares a proposal; you review it before applying any changes. Requests disable response storage, although OpenAI’s applicable API data-retention terms still apply. The app does not keep a chat transcript. Applied edits and previous draft versions remain in Studio, with an audit record of the action. Administrators can pause or disconnect the assistant and set daily request limits. Its connection key is encrypted on the server. Vocal and laughter cleanup run separately on the Sparkles server.

Google account access

Only the administrator connects a Google account. The app requests Google’s drive.file permission to create and manage files used with this app. It stores the connected account identity and encrypted connection credentials to maintain access. Performers do not need to connect Google accounts. Google data is used to provide file storage and delivery, not advertising, sale of personal information, or AI model training.

Cookies and security

Essential cookies maintain sign-in and secure the Google connection. The app does not include advertising or analytics trackers. Connections use HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and Google connection secrets are encrypted at rest.

Administrators can optionally enable two-step sign-in with an authenticator. Its setup key is encrypted on the server. Recovery codes are stored as hashes, work once and are shown only during setup. This does not change performer account permissions.

Recovery backups

The administrator’s Google Drive also holds encrypted recovery copies of the account catalogue, permissions and Studio drafts. These are separate from performer libraries. The recovery private key is kept off the server; the encrypted archive is needed together with that key to restore the service.

Retention and control

Deleting an account removes login access and releases its username, while retaining the owner record and show files. Optional website security alerts record blocked shared-download requests when enabled; they do not detect recordings of permitted previews. Removing a number in the app hides it from the library while retaining its Google Drive object for administrator recovery. Earlier versions and local history copies may also remain until removed by the administrator. Disabling an account or revoking a DJ computer prevents future access but does not erase files already downloaded. For access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions, contact the Sparkles Showbar administrator who invited you. Removal requests need to cover the Drive copy, app records and any DJ computer copies.

The Google account owner can revoke the connection through their Google account’s connected apps settings. This stops future Google access and does not itself remove stored files.
